Shields and Sticks
Shields |
Rather than providing passive protection like armor, shields were used to intercept specific attacks, whether from close-ranged weaponry or projectiles such as arrows or javelins, by means of active blocks. Often shields were decorated with a painted image to represent an individuals army or clan. These designs developed into systematized heraldic devices during the High Middle Ages. |

Sticks |
These are not a one time make. Through constant practice and use, most swords become "pulped" and break down needing to be replaced. Sword handles, cross guards, basket-hilts and tape jobs are the things that gives these rattan sticks character.
